I started sculpting in stone to complement my work as a dry stone waller, and now produce pieces for commission and sale working from my studio in the Cotswold Water Park.
I find stone challenging and enjoyable to work with; I love exploring the varied textures and colours found in material from different parts of the country (and around the world). Along with the stone, the countryside around me provides endless inspiration and is often reflected in my work.
The letter cutting presents its own challenges and reflects my interest in typography, linking back to my previous life as a printer in the marketing and advertising industry.
After several months of planning and hard graft, I am delighted to open the Ticket Office Studio & Gallery to visitors. Our home in the Cotswolds Water Park was once the Station Master’s house so the Ticket Office name seemed apt when we dreamt up the studio and gallery idea. I’m always happy to chat so whether you’re a fellow artist, you’re interested in my work or if you’re just lost on the way to the pub, call in and say hello.

You’ll find us on the corner of Station Road and Robert Franklin Way in South Cerney and if my bike’s outside, I’m at home. Depending on work and exhibition commitments, I’ll usually be in the studio at weekends during the Spring and Summer, and occasionally during the week. Please give me a call if you’re making a special trip, as I will always do my best to be there for visitors. If you’re lucky, there may even be tea and cake…
All the work shown here is for sale unless indicated so please get in touch if there is a piece you’d like to buy for your home, or to discuss a commission.
During the Spring and Summer, you can visit us at our new Ticket Office Studio & Gallery in South Cerney, Gloucestershire and see the work for yourself. Depending on work and exhibition commitments, the studio and gallery will usually be open to visitors at weekends and occasionally during the week. If you’re making a special trip do please call first to check we’re there (07806 705065).
Create your own unique piece of sculpture with a 2-day stone carving course in the fabulous surroundings of the Cotswold Water Park. Even if you’ve never picked up a chisel (like Peter in our photo), with David’s guidance you will be able to take away your own work of art at the end of the course.
The course covers basic stone carving techniques for beginners, whilst those with some previous experience will be inspired to explore new ideas and techniques.
We’ll give you home cooked lunches and sweet treats to sustain you along the way, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to chat to your fellow stone carvers and ask questions.
All tools, safety goggles and stone will be provided. We do ask that you wear stout shoes for safety, and comfortable clothes that won’t suffer from getting dusty! The studio can be a bit chilly if the weather is poor so layers are a good idea.
If someone you know has a birthday or celebration coming up give them an experience to remember with one of our gift vouchers. Ask us about gift vouchers here.
